The Lakes Region
Wavemakers
Welcome to Lakes Region Wavemakers. We are a developmental competitive swim team spanning ages 5 - 18 and swimming levels from novice to Region I competitors. We are proud of our diversity and strive to maintain an open and welcoming atmosphere for all who wish to swim. Our coaching staff covers a broad spectrum of styles and is all accomplished athletes in their own right. They bring enthusiasm and excitement to the sport.
We have recently completed our 2007-08 Winter Swim season, which runs from September 1st thru mid March. The team has welcomed over 20 new swimmers since September. Our season came to a close with the NHSA 2008 State Championships, competing with 13 other New Hampshire swim teams and over 850 swimmers. Wavemakers finished in the top ten, with over 20 Wavemakers grabbing placements in the top 16 of their events and 8 swimmers within the top 6.
As something new this year the Wavemakers decided to offer he Wave swim clinic, a 4 week program that would give the swimmers the opportunity to focus a bit more on their individual techniques. It was also a great chance for new swimmers to check out what a swim team practice is like. The clinic was met with an overwhelming response! Over 40 swimmers have spent the last few weeks refining their skills and having a great time.
Our Summer Season begins, Monday, May 12th and runs till the first weekend in August. A great way to check out the team and enjoy some outdoor meets.
Our practices and home meets are held at the
Laconia
Athletic and Swim Club at 827 North Main Street, Laconia, New
Hampshire.
